Senior Project Manager

The Senior Consultant Project Manager role takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects (typically with significant business, political, or high-profile impact, and high-risk dependencies). Selects methods and tools, using iterative techniques where appropriate, ensuring that effective project control, change control, risk management and testing processes are maintained. Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital costs against the project budget and manages expectations of all project stakeholders.

  • PRINCE2 ® Practitioner
  • PMP ® – Project Management Professional
  • Jersey/Guernsey Right to Work-qualified
  • Excellent time and problem management skills
  • To be a good communicator across all levels of an organisation
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing projects
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • The ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of programmes – Word, Project and Excel applications at intermediate level
  • Able to use a Service Management system or a similar computer application in a service environment
  •  Experience of service level agreements and conformance management
  • Knowledge and experience of ITIL and other similar quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001,ISO 20000, ISO 27001 and ISAE 3402)
  • Experience of reporting preferred, specifically relating to performance against contractual SLA and invoicing to clients


  • Excellent time keeping skills, being able to set and adhere to priorities and deadlines, using time effectively to complete tasks
  • An ability to work under pressure and to remain calm, particularly in times of conflict management and negotiation
  • Strong interpersonal skills to distil excellent people management and communicate effectively
  • An organised and methodical approach to handling tasks, routine activities and problem-solving
  • A self-motivated and proactive attitude
  •  Excellent attention to detail in their work and a confident approach to problem solving
  • A good sense of teamwork and will collaborate well with others
  • A highly developed customer-facing and relationship management skillset.

Key results areas:

  • Liaising with corporate or programme management to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated by related projects
  • Leading and motivating the Project Management team
  • Establishing the behavioural expectations of team members
  • Managing the information flow between the directing and delivering levels of the project
  • Establishing and managing the project’s procedures and controls using monitoring and reporting
  • Advising the Project Board of any deviations from the plan
