Senior Project Manager


We are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager who strives to achieve excellence in their delivery of stakeholder needs.

To do the job, you will need…

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing projects
  • Prince2 Practitioner qualification (still registered)
  • Excellent time and problem management skills
  • To be a good communicator across all levels of an organisation
  • The ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of programmes – Word, Project and Excel applications at intermediate level
  • To be Jersey/Guernsey Right to Work-qualified

As different types of project will require diverse types of project management skills, the successful candidate must be able to balance the different aspects of the Senior Project Manager role to suit the business setting.

The job will involve…

A Senior Project Manager (SPM) has the authority to run projects on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Project Board, adhering strictly to their brief and constraints. As a C5 SPM you will have the responsibility to ensure that all of your projects produce the required outcomes within the specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits. At the conclusion of your projects you will then refer back to the initial Business Case to show how the project has achieved the original aims.

You will accomplish this in the following ways…

  • Liaising with corporate or programme management to ensure that work is neither overlooked nor duplicated by related projects
  • Leading and motivating the Project Management team
  • Establishing the behavioural expectations of team members
  • Managing the information flow between the directing and delivering levels of the project
  • Taking responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiating corrective action where necessary
  • Establishing and managing the project’s procedures
  • Establishing and managing the project controls using monitoring and reporting
  • Authorizing Work Packages
  • Advising the Project Board of any deviations from the plan
  • Implementing Configuration Management Strategy
  • Scheduling configuration audits to check that the physical products are consistent with the Configuration Item Records and initiating any necessary corrective action.
