Leading Digital Firms Collaborate on Charity Project
Local technology firm, C5 Alliance has worked in collaboration with leading creative digital agency, Switch Digital to improve the performance of the website for Jersey Hospice Care.
The charity approached C5 to investigate its website after experiencing issues with loading times that could have hindered people finding information and possibly discourage potential donors making their donations online.
Following an audit of the Jersey Hospice Care website, C5 approached its digital partner, Switch Digital, to utilise its experts’ skillsets to benefit the charity.
Switch Digital changed the hosting platform for the site, bringing the site to a professional standard while making it 7.9x faster than the old site. The firm also offered to sponsor the hosting and ongoing website maintenance and support as part of its community commitment.
C5 has continued to develop its partnership with Switch Digital, having previously worked alongside the company on the development of its own website, and other web projects for clients including the States of Jersey’s flagship website gov.je, the website of the Jersey Audit Office, and the States of Jersey London Office website.
This collaboration follows C5’s commitment last year to protect Jersey Hospice Care’s technology resources by providing access to its business continuity suites at Rue des Pres.
Mark Macrae, Head of Process and Platforms at C5 Alliance, commented:
“When Jersey Hospice Care approached C5 with their problem, we wanted to do something positive to help them immediately. Our tech partner, Switch Digital, felt the same! Like most tech businesses, Switch Digital’s experts have their own niche area of expertise that we felt Jersey Hospice Care could really benefit from. It’s great to be able build close relationships with other organisations of skilled digital professionals to utilise each other’s expertise. While this isn’t the first time we’ve worked with Switch, and it certainly won’t be the last, this project is a great example of two tech companies coming together to create an impact in the wider community. I’m looking forward to working with Switch Digital again in the future.”
Damon Eastwood, Founder and Managing Director of Switch Digital, commented:
“For a charity that depends on public donations like Jersey Hospice Care, having a reliable online presence to provide information and collect donations is essential. Re-hosting the charity’s website on a robust platform locally has ensured it is running as efficiently and makes it much more accessible to users. Going forward, we will continue to build on our commitment to the charity by looking at ways to maximise the user-experience of the website.”
Emelita Robbins, Chief Executive of Jersey Hospice Care, commented:
“I’d like to sincerely thank both C5 Alliance and Switch Digital for their help with our website. It’s fantastic to have the website functioning properly so we can ensure users can find information easily, promote our work and direct people to the website for donations.”
