Data warehouse solution for one of the world’s leading independently owned family offices.
The client is one of the world’s leading independently owned family offices managing over forty billion dollars of assets on behalf of more than two hundred families. They achieve this from eleven offices across the globe.
C5’s Data and AI practice were tasked by the client’s Investment Management (IM) team to analyse their business reporting requirements and source platforms to accurately scope integration of Funds and Portfolio Data into the existing reporting estate.
C5 were also required to define and recommend a technical architecture to enable the client to deliver the reporting requirements. After carrying out multiple interviews, C5 were able to home-in on the key functional requirements required by different teams within the client’s organisation. With this knowledge C5 Alliance could tailor-make the solution from the ground up.
The C5 team enhanced the existing Trust and Family Office data warehouse by adding in feeds from the Investment Management applications provided by Advent (APX and Moxy) and combining the data with client data from NavOne based on Microsoft Dynamics.
The OLAP Cubes were also enhanced with these new data sets, satisfying all of the Investment Management team’s reporting requirements. Due to the nature of the Investment Management business this needed to be a dynamic solution capable of handling large amounts of data at very high speeds.
With the addition of the Investment Management data into the Trust and Family Office data warehouse, the client now has a place to access a single dynamic view of all clients covering both sides of the business.
Reporting on client portfolios has been improved and analysts can now slice and dice portfolio security holdings and monitor performance vs benchmarks over time. Client facing reporting packs have also been enhanced and made interactive. KPIs and new measures have been included within structured datasets, tailored by the business individual requirements allowing monitoring of performance.
Interactive visualizations with self-service business intelligence capabilities were provided via Power BI, leading to greater understanding of their clients and consequently improved engagement, service levels and profitability.
With the Investment Management data now added to Family Office data, the client now has an extremely powerful tool to ask an infinite amount of requests which can give current, accurate, concise and easy access to relevant data in seconds. This data can then easily be visualised and analysed using multiple applications depending on the users individual requirements.
Questions such as “I want to be able to see holdings for all clients with portfolio x so I can understand, report and monitor position data” can easily be asked and the answer provided in seconds. It is a complete reporting solution for the modern wealth management organisation.
