C5 Alliance have set an intention and a commitment to growing the business in a manner that aligns to the United Nations Global Compact principles and Sustainable Development Goals.
This strategy commits to promoting well-being, equality, inclusion and diversity within the team and also through our supply chain.
We want to minimise our negative impact and also strive to increase our positive impact within both the community and on the environment. We are committed to ensuring that our ESG strategy becomes embedded as part of our regular business processes.
Environment
We have conducted extensive research to understand the carbon footprint our business creates and we have now started to reshape our business model to reduce that footprint by consolidating our property portfolio and ensuring that new business processes take into account any environmental impacts.
A by-product of closing our physical datacentres and moving to the cloud has meant a significant reduction in our carbon footprint in 2021 by reducing the amount of electricity we consume.
We are now exploring how we can help and encourage our team to take the environment aspect of our ESG strategy into the wider community.
Social
In 2022 we have supported several key initiatives within the community through our ESG strategy.
‘Matilda JNR’ is a Jersey Amateur Dramatics Club run of 5 shows which took place between the 30th March and the 3rd April, with performers aged 18 or younger. The programme gives young people of Jersey the chance to perform in a west end standard production and to gain access to professional Directorship. C5 Alliance were a corporate sponsor of this programme for 2022.
We are also sponsoring Jersey Cricket Association’s ‘my club my journey’ programme. The partnership assists specifically with the development and growth of both under 11 and under 13 cricket clubs. The programme was formed in 2020 to ensure young players have a clear path to domestic club cricket in Jersey and the programme has grown from just 58 players across 4 teams, to 220 players across 14 teams. Our continued sponsorship of this programme will support ongoing development through 2022 and beyond.
In Guernsey, we continue to sponsor Mind Guernsey, by providing free IT consultation and by taking part in, and raising funds for the charity. We are also working with the National Trust Guernsey, taking part in volunteer work and supporting them with their initiatives.
Governance
Our values ensure that we always approach our business dealings in an ethical manner and our ESG strategy has given us a forum to help discuss and share those values within the team on a regular basis.
Our Purpose, Vision and Values reflect this governance-based approach, guide our behaviour in day-to-day business situations and serve as an inspiration to help us embody the kind of business we want to be.
